Mayors' Institute on City Design

Arts, Urban Design, and Mental Health

Update: This event is being offered as a Virtual Seminar  for mayors and city staff on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, and the presentation portion will be posted after the event.

Join MICD for a special session at the 92nd Winter Meeting of the United States Conference of Mayors, held January 17-19 in Washington, DC.

Arts, Urban Design, and Mental Health

Art, design, and the built environment are core aspects of designing for health, health equity, and belonging, and when we tap into these resources, we open more pathways for well-being and resilience. Join MICD to learn from mayors and experts how arts, culture, and urban planning strategies can help address loneliness and mental health challenges.

The Mayors’ Institute on City Design is a leadership initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the United States Conference of Mayors. Participants at this session will also have the opportunity to learn more about this program.
